Little Green Footprints is a way of life. A lifestyle. A union of the most important things in life: health, family and space.

LGF began by looking at some family pictures followed by a few thoughts on how to bring green back into our lives. And then it became clear that green has always been there. Not only did it exist in the pictures, but it was right there under our nose.

We just needed to reconnect.

For many of us, our first experience with the environment was simply a few feet away in our very own backyard. Our own space. As a child, it’s the place we made our first discoveries.

For us at LGF, we can remember numerous discoveries.

That a fort made of leaves was just as great as one made out of wood. That a tree was for climbing and hiding. That no tickle was more gentle than holding a fuzzy caterpillar in your palm. The chorus of frogs after a long rain. The smell of summer grass after it was cut. Puddle jumping after a big rain. Catching lightning bugs in a jar for that perfect bedtime nightlight.

So many discoveries. Too many to list.

Understanding that people cherish their own space, want to care for it, and enjoy it with their family, we invite you to look no further than your own backyard to make a difference. Reconnecting with the things which bring you joy.

At Little Green Footprints, we believe that green isn’t a label and there is no need for all-or- nothing thinking. Understanding that you are busy, we provide good advice for real living. After all, a little green is better than none at all. So pick a “shade of green” that fits. Don’t give up what you love. Instead, add to what you already cherish.

As a child that remembers when and an adult that wants to never forget, it is essential to ensure that backyard “discovery adventures” never end for future generations. This is the inspiration behind little green footprints. Because, individually we make a difference; collectively we make the impact.
